100 down..... 1,361 to go....

Well…President Obama makes it through his first 100 days. Naturally the sycophantic media is drooling all over themselves over this historic event. Can you blame them? Obama is a product of their making. Packaged, presented, promoted, propped up and protected by the liberal media giants.

We’ve heard little else but high praise for this man since the election from the media. He’s the most brilliant, most well spoken, most suave and sophisticated man of the world we’ve ever elected. Why… even the founding fathers fade to insignificants in the blinding light of his aura. Where George W. Bush could do absolutely nothing right Barack Hussein Obama can do absolutely nothing wrong. Or can he?

How about we take a little peek at the past 100 days and review some of the stellar achievements of Mr. Perfect, shall we? To his credit he has rung up some spectacular successes in these first 100 days.

For example he’s been able to get the house and senate to ram through legislation which undermines the power of both houses and transfers it to him. Further he has been incredibly effective in moving forward swiftly the most radical government expanding agenda in American history.

At home, in everything from his economic policy to his energy policy to his just announced science policy, President Obama has successfully moved America from its historical model of entrepreneurship and private initiative to a European model of Government regulation and control.

Abroad he has succeeded in his apparent attempt to be the non-George Bush; replacing aggressive, though sometimes flawed, American leadership with a humbled and weakened America on the world stage. What else has he accomplished?

Under the guise of “economic stimulus” he was able to get passed a $787 billion gift for his liberal special interest base. He accomplished this so quickly that NO member of congress was able to read the full bill before voting on it.

After a campaign pledge to end earmarks, he signed an appropriations bill loaded with over 8000 earmarks and paid NO political penalty. Remember George H.W. Bush and his no new taxes statement. The media crucified him…. But Obama skates unscathed for a much bigger grievance.

He has also been most successful at making the party members toe the party line. In the Senate Democrats were in lock step 91% of the time on votes and in the House and amazing 94% party line voting record.

There were a couple of amazing power grabs too. Obama has been successful in transforming the Federal Reserve and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) into giant engines of unsupervised spending. Together, in these first 100 days, they have spent the equivalent of the entire 2007 Federal Budget without having to disclose where the money went.

Just two weeks ago Obama presided over and unprecedented bureaucratic power grab when he got the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to rule that greenhouse gasses pose a threat to public health. This seemingly innocuous decision opens the door to wholesale regulation of every aspect of American life by the government. The threat is “so great” [they say] that politicians and activists are using the specter of an “out of control EPA” to try to force Congress to pass a 1 trillion to 2 trillion dollar tax increase in the form of a “cap and trade” program.

Overseas he’s been on an endless apology tour calling his own country “arrogant, dismissive and derisive.” At home he’s ramped up the public guilt trip by caving to the anti-American Left and threatening to prosecute former Bush officials over the interrogation of terrorists who were attempting to kill Americans. Not quite the Stalin style purges yet… but we're now walking down the same path.

The icing on the cake is going to be his 2010 budget which will completely remake the American healthcare system, remake the energy system and raise taxes. All of which are predicted to put America over 9 TRILLION dollars in debt. Media reaction? The sound of crickets chirping…….. Remember the “outrage” over Bush’s spending? Yet at a rate 1000 times greater not one single hostile syllable. Amazing!!!

But we’re not done yet! Nope… even now Democrats in Congress are fashioning a deal to pass the budget provisions for health care by preventing the Republicans and moderate Democrats from having a voice in the debate.

Just give that some thought for a minute. The Obama - Reid - Pelosi political machine is is going to pass legislation that fundamentally affects every American citizen…. And over 17% of our economy…. By cutting out the representatives of half the people out of the process. If you’re not scared yet….. You damn sure should be.

But it hasn’t been all positive. Nope… Mr. Suave has had his lighter moments too. Take inauguration day when we all heard how we were going to have to sacrifice. Meanwhile the event cost the nation triple what Bush spent. He was also in such a hurry to start “remaking” the country that he blew the oath of office. Good start.

The we have the appointments. (these guys need to look up “vetting:” in the dictionary) Bill Richardson pulls out over an ongoing investigation about campaign contributions. Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner has a minor problem figuring out the tax code he will oversee and fails to pony up $34,000 in taxes. Tom Daschle, nominated for Health Secretary, also can’t figure out the tax code we are expected to understand and fails to pay $146,000 in taxes. Nancy Killefer was supposed to be the Chief Performance Officer…. But once again there seems to be a tiny little problem with her ability to pay taxes. And knowing that Tim Geithner needs help at Treasury Ms. Annette Nazareth is nominated…. But quickly withdraws over her own tax problems!

Speaking of owing people money…. The Democrats still have not paid the $1.74 Million it owes for the party at Grants Park after Obama won.

Then there are the endearing comments that “W” would have been pilloried for if he’d said them. Like this one said in front of a joint session of Congress: “I believe that the nation that invented the automobile cannot walk away from it.” For the enlightenment of you democrats reading this…. Karl Benz… a German fellow and inventor of the gasoline powered motor car…. In Germany…Might object.

In his first visit to the new President British Prime Minister Gordon Brown presents President Obama with a desk set made from the wood of the anti-slavery ship HMS Gannet. In return Mr. Brown received the equally thoughtful gift of 25 DVD’s of American classic movies… in a format incompatible with European systems.

Meanwhile….. CNN medical reporter Sanjay Gupta is actually nominated to be the Surgeon General! The TV personality had the good sense to decline.

And finally…. President Obama is named “newsmaker of the year” by the National Newspaper Publishers Association. The White house closed the ceremony to who else…. THE PRESS! I guess they didn’t want the secret to get out.

Oh there are many more gaffs and gimmicks in these first 100 days. Enough to really make the American People laugh… IF they were ever reported. But reporting fairly and honestly on such matters would make Obama look bad…. And we can’t have that, can we?

100 down… 1,361 to go…. God help us all.
